One Mobilisation Survey: Measured and Topographical in One Site Visit
Commissioning measured building and topographical surveys together — in one site visit — is more efficient and better value than two separate surveys.

How a One Mobilisation Survey Works
A one mobilisation survey is a combined measured building and topographical survey delivered in a single site visit, with the same control network used for both surveys and the same drawing production phase used for the deliverables. The five benefits of a one mobilisation survey are single mobilisation charge (one travel cost and one site setup cost, compared with two for separate surveys), faster overall (one site visit covers both surveys, with the on-site attendance and the office processing optimised for the combined scope), consistent data (the same control network, the same coordinate system, and the same survey control for both surveys, with no risk of coordinate mismatch between the two deliverables), simpler project management (one surveyor, one point of contact, one fixed-fee quote, and one set of programme dates), and better value (a 15 to 25 percent discount on the combined fee compared with commissioning the two surveys separately). The two survey packages are measured building and topographical (the combined package covering the existing building and the wider site in a single mobilisation, with the measured building deliverable in DWG and PDF at the scale, and the topographical deliverable in DWG, PDF, and CSV at the grid spacing), and topographical and utility survey (the combined package covering the wider site and the buried services in a single mobilisation, with the topographical deliverable in DWG, PDF, and CSV, and the utility survey deliverable in DWG, PDF, and the PAS 128 format). The cost bands are one mobilisation measured and topo (from 1,000 pounds ex VAT) and one mobilisation topo and utility (from 900 pounds ex VAT). A typical site visit for a one mobilisation survey takes four to eight hours for a small residential site, and one to two days for a larger commercial site. The OS National Grid with Ordnance Datum Newlyn heights is the UK convention. A signed accuracy statement is the QA evidence for downstream design, planning, and construction use, and all icelabz one mobilisation surveys are issued under the RICS Measured Surveys of Land, Buildings and Utilities standard (3rd edition).
